The WDACS application and data portfolio is comprised of commercially hosted applications, internally developed applications, departmental warehouse and County-wide applications.

There have been multiple revisions to source systems, requiring WDACS to re-tool its interfaces to each. There are several data processing projects that are pending for the Workforce Branch pertaining to analytic data for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) CaJobs System. Further, a major cost management initiative is awaiting data integration resources along with several smaller projects.

The Solution

WATI captured data requirements for the applicable source systems, in coordination with Research and Statistics Analysts of WDACS. WATI built Database objects and database conversion tools to convert catalogs to database objects and load scripts. Complex analytical measures to be processed inside the database tier. WATI built and maintained data slicing processes in support of the state wide CaJobs system and scheduled complex batch scripts that include complete extract, transform and load processing. WATI also built and maintained geospatial objects and processing within the database. WATI trained WDACS staff and provided supporting procedures.

Results

WATI’s solution that combined retooling interfaces, ETL, and database conversions benefited WDACS in deploying the solution on schedule to meet County and State mandates.
