Job Duties and Skills:

• Modify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance.
• Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
• Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
• Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
• Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of models.
• Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.
• Consult with customers about cloud software system design and maintenance. Supervise the work of programmers, technologists and technicians and other engineering and scientific personnel.
• Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.
• Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and security needs to determine hardware configuration.
• Expert knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery.
• Deep diving into data to understand the potential attributes/metrics, their mapping against tables and their source of origin.
• Deciphering the business requirements for data and reporting and design a data solution.
• Estimate user stories and tasks in Agile scrum independently.
• Resolve technical challenges and manage dependencies with scrum team.
• Engage end users and assist (trouble shoot, train on new features) with adoption of new systems, configuration and testing, data migration, translate user needs into technical features and engage users to validate MVP, exposure to Azure Development and CI/CD.
• Review and approve the modification of existing databases and database management systems.
• Instruct staff to write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system.
• Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project. Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure.
• Approve, schedule, plan and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer system.
• Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information.
