Oracle Developer

Experience:
  • 6 years of experience with Oracle utilizing PL-SQL programming objects, Oracle database objects, Unix scripting, and experience with Toad/Oracle SQL Developer, Data Modeler, Oracle 12c, and/or later
  • 6 years of experience writing stored procedures, T-SQL, Functions, Packages, Triggers, and SQL queries
  • Experience utilizing report writing best practices (optimization, use of joins and sub-queries)
  • Experience pulling data from Oracle 12c and/or higher databases for reports and interfaces
Position Description:
  • Selected candidates will be interacting daily with subject matter experts and other functional experts, as well as end-users, to comprehend requirements and ensure all aspects of the project are delivered as planned. The ideal candidate must thrive on working in a fast-paced environment and be able to effectively understand and implement Interfaces/reporting solutions using Oracle 12c and/or higher, MS SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) 2016 and/or higher, support application on Unisys BIS (Business Information Server), formerly known as MAPPER (Maintain, Prepare, and Produce Executive Reports), and support data analysis functions using Oracle 12c and/or higher. Candidate should also be able to understand, resolve and implement problems related to data interfaces using Oracle 12c and/or higher.
  • Two (2) years of experience preferable with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
  • Two (2) years of experience preferable with Unisys MAPPER/BIS. Familiarity with manual functions, and run control reports and scripts.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and provide support for a critical application running on Unisys MAPPER/BIS.
  • Provide support to Business Analyst(s) in gathering and/or clarifying data and functional requirements from business owners
  • Develop, Deploy and/or maintain interfaces & reports in accordance with LAUSD requirements and standards using Oracle 12c and/or higher and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) 2012 and/or higher
  • Develop data interface packages, shell scripts in accordance with LAUSD requirements and standards using Oracle and Unix shell scripts
  • Develop and maintain database stored procedures, views, triggers, functions, and/or packages
  • Develop SQL queries and support ad hoc requests for data
  • Identify and troubleshoot business process or data quality issues that show up in the reports and interfaces and subsequently communicate to resolve and eliminate problems
  • Transfer knowledge to LAUSD Personnel
