Required Skills:

  • The Senior Programmer will possess knowledge and experience in applications software development principles and methods sufficient to participate in the design, development, testing and implementation of new or modified applications software.
  • Operating systems installation and configuration procedures
  • Organization’s operational environment; software design principles, methods and approaches; principles, methods and procedures for designing, developing, optimizing and integrating new and/or reusable systems components
  • Pertinent government regulations; infrastructure requirements, such as bandwidth and server sizing.
  • Database management principles and methodologies, including data structures, data modeling, data warehousing and transaction processing.
  • Functionality and operability of the current operating environment.
  • Systems engineering concepts and factors such as structured design, supportability, survivability, reliability, scalability and maintainability.
  • Optimization concepts and methods; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work.
  • Speak and write effectively and prepare effective reports.

Must have a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in electronic data processing systems study, design, and programming. At least four (4) years of that experience must have been in a lead capacity.

Requires the possession of a bachelor’s degree in an IT-related or Engineering field. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Skills:

  • Employee Portal AEM Senior Programmer preferred skills are: – Ability to design, develop, new and enhanced complex web applications and portals, using the current framework functionality of Adobe Sites 6.5 on Adobe Experience Manager hosted on the Adobe Managed Services cloud platform.
  • Knowledge of best practices and development standards within the AEM platform to ensure county developers have the necessary skillsets once the contract period has ended.
  • Ability to identify and resolve Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) issues in the AEM codebase and content. – Ability to write complicated and optimized SQL and PS/SQL for Oracle and MS SQL Server.
  • Ability to configure, optimize and maintain the Solr search platform, including integration with AEM Adobe Sites, boosting ranking, multi-language support, geographic location data, signal ranking, natural language, knowledge graph answers, extractive answers, and Google BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations for Transformers).
  • Ability to integrating various and diverse technologies into a AEM web portal environment, such as Salesforce, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Oracle database and applications.
  • Ability to write System Level Documentation, which will include development, maintenance, including flow charts and detailed logic specifications using Microsoft Office Products.
  • Ability to provide on demand project reports to ensure project timelines are met and report any issues to the Project Manager.
  • Ability to train County staff in all associated skills.
  • Five (5) years, experience within the last seven (7) years, with the current framework functionality of Adobe Sites 6.5 on Adobe Experience Manager hosted on the Adobe Managed Services cloud platform, to design, develop, new and enhanced complex web applications and portals. Four (4) years, experience within the last six (6) years, developing WCAG accessible web applications by using Adobe Sites on the Adobe Experience Manager platform, CSS, JavaScript, web services and HTML. Development experience should also demonstrate the ability to integrate diverse technology in an AEM web portal platform, such as Salesforce, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Oracle database and applications. Four (4) years, experience within the last six (6) years, writing SQL and PL/SQL for Oracle and MS SQL Server. One (1) year, experience out of the last three (3) years, Eclipse and GIT development tools. One (1) year, experience out of the last three (3) years, identifying and resolving Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) issues in the AEM codebase, components, and content. One (1) year, experience out of the last three (3) years, configuring, optimizing and maintaining Solr search platform, including integration with AEM Adobe Sites, boosting ranking, multi-language support, geographic location data, signal ranking, natural language, knowledge graph answers, extractive answers, and Google BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations for Transformers). One (1) year, experience out of the last three (3) years, creating System Level Documentation, including development, maintenance, flow charts and detailed logic specifications using Microsoft Office Products.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited four-year college/university in one of the following majors:
    • Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Applied Computer Sciences, or Informatics.
